Like most cities and towns in Rhode Island, affordable homes priced under $200,000 are difficult to find. Even multi family units that were selling for $120,000 just three years ago are now on the market for more than double that price.
As of early August 2006, the average asking price for a single family home was $497,421. The average asking price for a condo was $407,538, which was up from $343,820 just 6 months ago. On average, the homes that were selling were priced within 5% to 7% of their final asking price.
