Chosen as the "Best Cultural Secret" by Rhode Island Monthly magazine, Opera Providence is in its sixth season. It brings exceptional local and regional artists to the stage in opera and concert performances. Providence is also home to the professional Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra which performs a full season of contemporary and classical repertoires.
Founded in 1963, the Trinity Repertory Company is "one of the most respected regional theatres in the country". Trinity presents a balance of world premiere, contemporary, and classic works, including six subscription productions, and an annual production of A Christmas Carol. In its 42-year history, the theater has produced nearly 50 world premieres.
